Tester's opinion |
| Make a mark in
the unending white snow. The superior futuristic Nomad
model for athletic, demanding ski design purists. With six
TFC sectors in the tip and four in the tail of the ski,
the technology is also some of the finest on the slopes.
For perfect enjoyment all over the world. |
The second
winner also knew how to impress the jury. The Atomic
Blackeye excelled especially on edge stability and short
turns, equally inspiring to former professional ski racers
and 'civilian' testers. |

| Manufacturer's
description |
Tester's opinion |
| This is without a doubt the
ideal all mountain ski.-The purists have been waiting for
this moment: the new 8000 has arrived! With a new
construction and a new design, the Legend 8000 confirms its
position once again as the best on trail/off trail
compromise (50/50). With versatility, skiability, precision
and great edge grip, it excels in the powder and difficult
snow, but also fully expresses itself on the trail |
One of the two
winners. The Dynastar Legend lived up to its name and was
judged as a very well-balanced ski, impressing former
professional skier, Frank Wörndl, with its outstanding
edge stability. The Dynastar Legend also proved that skis
of the first order may also be aesthetically ambitious:
Silver at the Snow Style Mens All Mountain Awards. |

Voelkl AC 30 Titanium |
Average: 37.4 |
Rating:
Very good |
 |
| Manufacturer's
description |
Tester's opinion |
| The new stars
of the UNLIMITED series are the AC 40 CARBON and the AC 30
TITANIUM. As the premium model of the family, the new AC
40 CARBON even has the same racing ski technology and a
similar sporty look to the VÖLKL RACETIGER models.
However, the essential difference is that the UNLIMITED is
a good 16mm wider than the big cat even at its narrowest
point and therefore generates more drive on the terrain.
For the best possible edge grip, AC 40 CARBON and AC 30
TITANIUM have a Double Grip XTD construction. The long,
stretched construction with doubled wooden core and
doubled construction height is an exception for iPT
Motion. The patented ski binding system is fully
integrated into the ski and therefore offers a maximum
contact surface and an optimum transfer of power from ski
boot to ski. The XTD Sensor Wood Core is used in the
inside of the AC 40 CARBON. This multi-layered, glued
wooden core gives the ski a very fine feel when handled.
The inside of the AC 30 consists of an XTD Wood Core that
has been strengthened for more stability at top speeds
with a layer of highly dense titanal. The performance of
the special aluminum alloy has been increased again in the
AC 40 with a woven in carbon insert. The strong, yet light
qualities of the high tech material increase the rigidity
of the torsion, give a smooth run and make precise carving
at high speed possible on unprepared terrain. Their
powerful qualities make both skis suited to versatile and
athletic skiers who love variety. |
This
ski only just missed a top three placing. The Völkl
Titanium proved to be quite a user-friendly bit of
equipment, which above all scored high on long turns. A
ski for bon viveur 'all-round' skiers and a favourite of
Austrian popstar Nik P. |

| Hungry
all-terrain freeride ski with a good bite on the slopes
and a monstrous appetite for powder. New fully reinforced
sidewall construction. Powder to piste ratio: 50/50. |
The glamour boy
of the All Mountain sector. The Head Monster did not only
take first prize at the Snow Style Awards, but also left
its competition far behind in the category of muscular
