The Ski Kaiser Franz Klammer, together with over one hundred international ‘guinea pigs’ had perfect conditions matched with all the varieties of snow.

Without knowing the provenance of their equipment, current olypmic gold medalists and world champions, hobby and recreational skiers, and former world class athletes tested roughly 120 models from the ten worlds largest ski manufacturers.
The test team included: Austrian 'skiing jewel' Marlies Schild, 'regular guest' Fritz Strobl, Hans Knauss, Christian Mayer, Nicola Spieß-Werdenigg, Urska Hrovat or FrankWörndl. As well as toboggan Olympic gold medalists Wolfgang and Andreas Linger and the former bycicle racing star Gerhard Zadrobilek. "Each ski has its own qualities. However, it is not always the case that each prizewinning ski is the optimal partner on the piste" explained a cheerful Franz Klammer.

The test run presented itself with a tough and solid side in the morning, whilst in the afternoon the testers carved up a perfectly softened up piste offering firm grip. They applied themselves conscientiously to their work and with obvious enjoyment. The opportunity to sample several skis in a row, without being influenced by looks or brand aroused their curiosity and appetite for more.

How is was performed

General information to the WorldSkitest. We set great importance to objectivity and neutrality.

All skis of all categories are neutralized by black color. The assignment and the change of skis take place in a blocked area, whereby neutral service men and assistants will support the testers in changing the skis and adjusting the bindings. This area is only reserved to participants of the AustriaSkitest WorldSkitest. How does the evaluation of the skis work: the testers place points from 1 to 10, highest score being 10.WorldSkitest Testbogen
