The next revolution in skiing is NOT a new ski; it’s a ski boot.

The above is a header from the Atomic dealer catalogue, but we have to agree that it is true. We have the opportunity to test the new Hawx during this spring and compare to our Salomon X-Waves, this boot gives a new feeling of contact with the ski.

What is the new?
Hawx is a ski boot with the feature of forefoot flexibility. Compare to traditional ski boots, which locks the forefoot in place, Hawx allows your forefoot to flex in combination with the shell in the foot’s crucial metatarsal zone.

The elastic I-flex zone unlocks your foot and returns your natural balance point forward under your metatarsals; the foot’s bio-engineered “sweet spot”. It’s only logical that once you’re standing on the Boots “sweet spot”, you able to transfer all your power to the edge. This gives a very special feeling when you are pressing your "sweet spot" towards the ski and the snow.
If you are testing the boot for the first time, you should select a slope where you make real carving turns. Just press your "sweet spot" and you get an amazing feeling. Personally we feel that this is a new type of skiing. It is important to start in the easy carving slope to maximize the use of the flex and the go step by step to the more difficult slopes.
It is first in the piste that you really feels the benefit of this new construction. If you have the opportunity to test or rent this new technology we recommend you do it.
