| Among the mountains in the heart of the
Triglav
National Park
you find one of the most beautiful valleys in
Europe
. This valley is also the heart of the adventure water sports like
kayak, canyoning, canoe and rafting in
Slovenia
.
|
|
The river Soca, in the north western part of
the country, attracts water sport enthusiasts from the whole
Europe
with its green alp water streaming down between the mountains.
Wherever you are in the
village
of
Bovec
the only thing you see are kayaks, canoes, rafting boats and sport
agencies. With an agency in more and less every corner, (there are
more than 10 of them), we recommend you to take a tour to see what
they can offer.

|
|
The activities in the rivers Soca and
Kortnica are omitted by rules. The water is only open for
activities between the 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from the 15th
of March to the 31st of October.
Access to the river is only allowed at
certain designated places which are well marked at the map that
you can receive at the tourist information. Here can you also buy
the license you need to access the rivers. Kayak permits are sold
for day, week or month, canoes for day or annual, canyoning for
day and rafting for day or annual.

The mandatory protective gears are helmet,
life jacket, wetsuit (3 mm), anorak and neoprene footwear. The
vessel and/or life jacket should be equipped with a rescue rope of
minimum 15 meters.
The levels of difficulty varies between 1 and
6 along the river, with the 1 and 2 levels after the village
Kombard, but with 2 to 6 just before it. It is very important to
read the map and it is recommended to use a local guide for your
first trip.

Accommodations
Bovec offers you three stars hotels,
apartments and a couple of camping sites. The closest camping site
is at the northern entrance to Bovec, but if you plan to camp you
should take a look at the three camp sites that you find west of
Bovec. Just follow the signs for Toni’s Kayak Camp and you will
reach them all.
