The ski slopes at Folgarida-Marilleva, Passo Tonale and Pejo are easy to reach from the valley, wich is dotted with a host of villages, home to tens of hotels and hundreds of private flats.Finding accomodation in a valley village is quite a charming experience : here the guest will become acquainted with native people and enjoy top-quality facilities.
Hotels in Val di Sole are particularly comfortable, mostly run by their proprietors, who have developed a great expertise ; most establishments offer to their guests a free ski shuttle to and from the ski resorts, but a Nevebus Val di Sole transport service is also available. The valley villages daily offer cultural, sports and recreational events: at the end of your skiing day, you'll have an occasion to take part in a country-like festival under a tent, to watch a play or take part in a maxi-bingo outdoors or to a torch-light procession on your skis. If you like window-shopping, you can choose among a bounteous network of shops selling any kind of goods ; whereas art lovers ought to visit the majestic, monumental churches in the valley, featuring remarkable wooden altars. Malè, the main centre in the valley, is certainly worth a visit. The village is dotted with squares, bearing witness to its ancient importance as an administrative and trading centre. Nowadays, Malè is still the most important village in Val di Sole, whose 16th Century buildings recall its medieval-Renaissance alpine village status.
