Situated at 1524 m above sea level, Valtournenche is one of the greatest tourist resorts in the Aosta Valley (Italy). It offers many opportunities in winter and in summer. Tourists can spend a quiet and pleasant holiday in an atmosphere that maintains the mountain villages' traditional lifestyle.
Lifts are available to skiers and allow exciting downhill runs on powdery snow slopes, with a network covering a 1500 m altitude difference, from 1562 m at the departure of the cable-car to 2982 m of the Colle Superiore of Cime Bianche. The connection with other lifts allows the enjoyment of Breuil Cervinia and Zermatt slopes. During the spring, you can ski "off piste", practice alpine skiing and during the summer you can enjoy skiing on the glacier.
Hospitality counts on 6 *** star hotels, on 10 ** star hotels, on 2 * star hotels, on 3 Bed & Breakfast, on 1 Farm-house and 1 “holiday houses and flats”.

During free time, guests can choose from facilities such as outdoor skating rink, swimming-pool, sauna, turkish bath, polyvalent gymnasium (baby foot, basket, volley and tennis), artificial and natural wall for climbing and tennis courts (open during the summer saison). Moreover it is also possible renting ski-doos in winter and mountain-bikes in summer.
The farmhouse in Loz organises, for horse lovers, one hour or one day excursions.
Also in the village there are shops, typical restaurants and ski equipment rentals.
Cross country ski lovers have at their disposal, 2 and 4 km from the centre, two courses (6,5 km and 3,3 km long), situated in Maen and in Champlève respectively.
Valtournenche is an important ski resort. The scenic chain of the Grandes Murailles is its great background. People have at their disposal 1 cable-car, 2 chair-lifts, 5 skilifts and 1 snow fun park. Its territory (35 km of slopes) unfolds in the amphitheatre between Monte Roisetta and the Gran Sometta and offers a marvellous view of the Matterhorn. Ski slopes are of easy and intermediate difficulty and are suitable for every requirement!
At Colle Superiore Cime Bianche (2982 m) there is the connection between the territories of Breuil-Cervinia and the neighbouring Zermatt, forming one of the greatest "domaines skiables" of the Alps (350 km of beaten slopes). Thanks to this combination, it is possible to ski the whole day without repeating any slope.
