At an altitude of 2300 metres, the highest resort in Europe is the culminating point of the 3 Vallées, the biggest ski area in the world (600 km of pistes). Val Thorens guarantees an incomparable quality of abundant snow from the end of November to the beginning of May: 99% of the ski area is situated at above 2000 m and over
35% of it is equipped with artificial snow making machines. From the top of the Cime Caron at 3200 m, you can discover a 360° panorama over the whole of the Alps. From powder fields to perfectly prepared pistes,
the wide and varied ski area has something for everybody: alpine skiing, ski trekking, snow boarding, snow shoe outings... and even toboganning on a 6 km piste, the longest in France.
As for ski lifts, the ultra modern comfortable lifts provide rapid liaisons even at the height of the season or in difficult weather conditions.
The same diversity and requirements can be found in its accommodation, with hotels ranging from a prestigious
4 star to charming 2 stars, very affordable apartments to the most luxurious and, for the last ten years, up-market chalets, offering ideal services for families or groups of friends
A “ski from the door” pedestrian resort (car parking obligatory), Val Thorens offers a real village life in a welcoming and cosmopolitan ambience including a Sports Centre offering more than twenty sports and leisure activities, numerous boutiques for shopping, weekly classical and jazz concerts, and many other
sporting activities (driving on ice, toboganning, snow scooters, snowshoe outings, paragliding, microlighting and
the latest arrival, a bowling alley...), restaurants, bars, night clubs...
