Skis with smaller width are made for hard and well prepared pists. The wider the skis is in the middle (width) the better it is for softer snow. Skis with a width between 70 and 79 are good for softer sloped and groomy snow. They works in the hard piste as well as off piste, but not as good as a ski made for that environment. Wider skis (width) are made for oure off piste and floats on the snow.
